Ingredients
- 2 tbsp cooking oil
- 5 cup water approx.
- 2 cup canned tomatoes cut up
- 1 onion large, chopped
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 cup carrots sliced
- 1 cup celery sliced
- 1 cup cabbage chopped
- 3/4 cup quick cooking barley
- 1/4 cup parsley snipped

Instructions
- Brown ribs in oil. Add water, tomatoes, onions and salt. Simmer for 11/2 hours. Add carrots, celery, cabbage, barley and parsley. Simmer 45 minutes.
- Remove from heat. Cut meat from bones. Return meat to soup. Add more tomatoes and water if necessary. Heat and serve.
